Psst -- iPhone Nerds...

Got a shiny new iPhone? Got shiny new MT4 Beta? Well, every listing screen in MT4 has built-in feeds for things like managing your entries and comments, all you've got to do is look for the feed icon on the side of a listing page. You can even customize the display ("Only show me comments that are pending approval.") and get a feed showing exactly the info you want.

Then, subscribe to that feed in Apple's .Mac Reader. Voila, you're up to date on your blog, right from your iPhone. The best part -- MT's admin feeds aren't just for comments. You can subscribe to all kinds of custom views:

  • Subscribe to MT's System Activity Log to see stuff like which of your users are logging into the system
  • Filter the Activity Log to show you just new user registrations, so you can see who signs up to comment on your blog every day
  • Subscribe to a list of entries with "Draft" status in all of your blogs, to see what content you haven't published yet
  • Get a feed of every term your readers are searching for on your blog, to give you suggestions about topics for new posts
  • Make a feed for every Page that's published with a certain tag, so that you can know when anyone on your system creates a new page on a topic
Of course, you don't need an iPhone to subscribe to those feeds, they'll work in any RSS reader. But you've got to justify that shiny little gadget somehow, right?

Do you have any photos of an iphone with this running? I’m curious what typical output looks like on the device.

This is a great aplication for iPhones. I have 15% daily readers who use smartphones. I am going to have a closer look to this subscribe options.

I have to admit that the MT’s outlook on the iPhone looks really great. Clean, but at the same time shiny :)

Hello, I use MT from long time, but haven’t registered here. I just bought to my wife iPhone5 and tried to reach one of my blogs with the steps described above. However I couldn’t. Is there something new in the process or it is the same and should keep trying?
