There's a whole pile of new and updated documentation for MT4 that we've been working on updating, based specifically on the requests we've gotten from the community and from developers. Some highlights:
- An all-new introduction to the MT4 Developer's Guide. All of the developer documentation available has been better organized, so it's easier to find.
- Transformer Callbacks documentation, for plugins that change the way MT4's screens look.
- Object Callbacks documentation, to create plugins that hook into the core object actions that make MT4 go.
- Information on how to package your plugins.
- And one of the coolest new features in MT4, how to build MT Dashboard Widgets.
- You can even go all the way and create entirely new screens within the application.
- MT4's Comment Templates for Users of MT3 or Earlier, A.K.A. "MT4 templates for mere mortals". If you've been confused or intimidated by all the includes and variables in the new MT4 templates, this is a great place to start.
- An introductory Designer's Guide to MT4 Templates, which is a great place to get started.
- A practical example of how to create comment feeds.
- And one of the most handy new features in MT4, how to use MT4's widgets on your site.

How about documenting some of the new stuff such as folders, assets and examples of what can be done with it. I remember Byrne (I think it was) who said something along the lines of the Vox feature of This asset also used in.... should be possible now. Mostly examples are needed badly. Personally I'm fighting the folders right now and are suspecting that what I want to do isn't possible :(

I second Sara. Examples would be nice. Also, what is the difference between a "page" and an "entry." Right now they seem to be the same though I think I know how to distinguish the two.

Not to mention the ratings framework (EntryScore etc). I see lots and lots of people asking but no one seems to know what to do with all those tags. Again working example would be nice.

It would help if there were screenshots to go with the examples. I'm one of those visual folks who have a hard time picturing what it's supposd to look like when the codes are run.

Know what'd be really awesome? If you linked to any of this documentation from movabletype.com. Cuz you don't. Anywhere.
Also, you probably want to remove all the references to "beta".

Jay it IS linked, though not very obvious at all. On the top right hand side is a smallish link called support. Follow that and you'll find the stuff.
