Enabling this functions, means adding the following to your movable type installation mt-config.cgi file:

ShowIPInformation 1

After adding this directive, you would upload the mt-config.cgi file to your server, under your CGIPath folder, in ASCII mode and overwrite the previous version.

Then, from the movable type admin, you would see a new option under the "Preferences" menu, at the blog level.

That option is:

Preferences -> IP Banning

You should also know, that implementing this directive would also add an IP column to:

Manage -> Comments

Magage -> TrackBacks

Both at the blog and the system level.
