Upgrading to Movable Type 6

If upgrading from an older version of Movable Type, users might notice a change to where their “blog” information is located in Movable Type 6 depending on the pre-upgrade version.

Upgrading from Movable Type 4 to Movable Type 6

When upgrading from Movable Type 4 to Movable Type 6, all [blog] information will migrate to the [website].

For example, Movable Type 4 had the following structure:

  • Blog
    • First Blog
    • Second Blog

After upgrading to Movable Type 6, all [blog] related information will become accessible from the [website] screen.

  • Website
    • First Blog
    • Second Blog

Upgrading from Movable Type 5 to Movable Type 6

If upgrading from Movable Type 5, website and blog information will carry over without any change to location.

This structure will remain the same, even after upgrading to Movable Type 6.
